Taking the Florida Teacher Certification Exam? (FTCE ESOL)

The Florida Teacher Certification Examinations were set up in 1980 to test teacher’s knowledge and competency in Florida. In 1986, it also became mandatory for Florida teachers to also pass a test based on he particular subject. The FTCE English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) K–12 examination is taken by teachers who would be teaching English to students of other languages. FTCE ESOL examinations are being administered by Person VUE.

Registration

Registration for the FTCE ESOL exams is available online 24 hours, every day

Computer based exams do not have registration deadlines although the test sites accept applications on a first come basis

Exam Fees

Registration fee is $220
Registrations that are cancelled more than 24 hours to the test date will receive a partial refund

Exam Format

The FTCE ESOL test consists of 120 multiple choice questions

The exam is timed for two and a half hours
